The MT5 platform is the next generation of trading platforms from Metaquotes, and whilst its sister platform MT4 has become firmly established as a favourite with forex traders, MT5 is now rapidly gaining in popularity and one on which all the Quantum Trading tools and indicators are now available.
Once of the catalysts for this rapid rise in popularity was the addition of the option to hedge in 2016. No longer were forex traders restricted to the MT4 platform, but now hedging was available on MT5. This was the game changer with brokers increasingly offering the MT5 platform alongside MT4, and whilst the two platforms have much in common, there are some major differences between the two.
First, MT5 is considered a true multi asset platform, and offers an array of markets including commodities, stocks, indices, cryptocurrencies and of course forex.
Second, the MT5 platform offers a wide array of timescales. No longer are traders restricted to a limited number of standard options which can be restrictive. On the MT5 platform, these gaps are filled with 2 minute, 3 minute, four minute, and many more, giving traders access to true multi time frame trading.
More recently Metaquotes have added further exciting features, not least with the floating window docking option, allowing traders to detach charts and locate them on separate monitors.
Whilst the MT4 platform is here to stay, MT5 is increasingly being adopted and offered by brokers around the world, giving forex traders all the benefits of the platform they know and love, but opening up an array of new markets on an exciting, powerful yet familiar platform.
